Wisdom Wonder Project- My Review

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.

I can honestly say I had never heard of Wisdom Wonder Project until I had the opportunity to review their curriculum and all I can say is “Wow! Where has this been my whole teaching career?” I am not easily impressed with curriculum after having seen so many throughout the years, but guys, this one impressed me! It is beautifully written and designed and so easy to put into action in my home! We personally used the Young Scholars First/Second Grade and found it rich and fulfilling and so amazingly dynamic for our school journey!

Also available from this amazing company: Little Wonders Preschool  Junior K – Kindergarten and Kindergarten Singapore Math, each professionally done and an amazing quality for the price!

I looked through the collections before we began because I knew there were materials we would need to gather on our own if we were to do justice to this amazing curriculum. An example of the things we needed for our studies so far include: The Story of the World Volume 1 textbook (easily found online to order and also a lot of families sell their used ones as they move on to the next level. We were blessed to find one at our local library until we can purchase one! ), basic craft supplies (glue, construction paper, tissue paper, paints, foam cubes or blocks, leggos, etc.) and some library books unless you have the recommended books on hand or wish to purchase them for your own. We chose to utilize our local library and so far it has worked out really well for us! So, gathering up materials was pretty easy, especially with the lists given with each unit of study. I could simply look and plan ahead as to what our needs will be for each day of study. No looking and trying to figure things out on my own: although I can add and adapt as I want to which makes this curriculum even more of a treasure in my home.

With the subscription to this program one can print each month’s units as needed beforehand. I would like to note that it is not required to print everything out as I did. I am the type who likes to have a book or paper in my hands, physically. These units can be downloaded and saved on your device and easily accessible so you do not have to print it out unless you want to.

Primary History & Literature. We are using the recommended textbook and are learning about Ancient Times. We are using narration, history comprehension questions, literature readings, literature discussion, copywork and enrichment activities: ALL included in each unit.

We had a lot of fun with the Primary Young Masters Collection. We particularly enjoyed studying Frida Kahlo and trying our hand at some artwork similar to hers. I love that we are exposing a younger audience to artists and their works and allowing the freedom for artistic expression.

We had a wonderful time creating our own version of Frida’s “Self Portrait with a Monkey” and having a lunch of “Mexican fried rice” (recipe in the curriculum!) with a table decorated with our newly designed “Frida’s flowers”

We have “Primary History & Literature, Primary Young Masters Collection and Primary Science collection”. We have studied artists, our beautiful earth and living things and ancient history” and this is first grade! The work is fulfilling, enriching, engaging and diverse! We read a variety of books, discuss a lot of things aloud, work with our hands and journal! I am telling you guys, this is a jackpot for us! There are so many hit and misses with curriculum and this one just “fit” our needs perfectly! Not only do I love it, the kids love it too! They are excited to work and explore and learn!

No guessing what supplies will be needed! Each subject provides the list of supplies needed leaving no guesswork and no stress for me!

My family and I have truly, truly enjoyed this beautiful curriculum. It has added such a beautiful dimension to our school day. We are eager to begin each lesson and encouraged with each completed project or journal entry. I am confident they are receiving a thorough education and feel so blessed to continue with this curriculum. This is definitely a thumbs up in our house!

Learning about Frida Kahlo: we used an online version of the recommended book and had our try at Frida’s flowers (messy but oh so much fun!)

I will definitely be sharing more as we progress with this curriculum! I can’t imagine our school days without it now!
